This is a intended as an informal high-sec multi-boxing guide for Lv4 missions. This doesn't involve the use of ISBoxer, so if you're Mac-based like me you should be able to replicate this for the most part. As with anything, YMMV - and this depends highly on your skills, characters, ship choices and fittings - and of course BOB... First, let's get some straightforward questions out of the way.
What can I realistically expect to make in terms of ISK/hour? Anywhere from 125m ISK/hour to 250m ISK/hour with 3 skilled characters (10m skill points). With 5 characters this jumps closer to 200m ISK/hour to 400m ISK/hour due to better mission draws and the ability to decline underperforming missions more often.
What kind of initial start-up investment am I looking at? Excluding the cost of the characters, skill training and upkeep - as low as 500m ISK plus the associated costs for any Burner-specific ships. Depending on how you want to augment your characters with implants (particularly Ascendancies) and buffer your ships, the cost goes up from there.
What kind of skillset is required? Depending on your poison (missiles, drones, lasers, etc.) you can manage with as low as 5m skill points, but ideally you'll want to have 6-8m specialized skill points. While it's not required, Leadership III, Social IV, Negotiation IV and Security Connections IV are recommended phasing in at some point as this increases your ISK/LP haul with each mission.
How long does it take to grind my standings so I can accept Lv4 missions? About 6 hours with 5 characters (3 missioning, 2 collecting) to 12 hours with 3 characters (2 missioning, 1 collecting). These are approximate and the type of missions and level of Social training can really affect the standings gain.
Will I need to run battleships or can I do this with battlecruisers or strategic cruisers? Battleships are the easiest to train into in terms of maximum damage and tank for minimum effort. Strategic cruisers definitely work but they can be fairly skill-intensive to train into, in addition to being one of the most expensive options. Battlecruisers lack damage so while they have a fairly strong tank, they only do the equivalent of about half the damage of a battleship.
I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
